32,000 Chenille Sweaters Recalled Due to Flammability
Thousands of chenille sweaters for girls and women are being recalled because they are dangerously flammable. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said it has received no reports of injuries.
The recall order, issued Wednesday, covers more than 32,000 sweaters sold by stores nationwide.
Made in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States, the sweaters sold for between $38 and $130. The commission urged consumers to stop wearing sweaters they believe may be involved and to return them to the seller.
Major retailers that sold the sweaters included: BCBG, Foley’s, Macy’s, Robinson-May, Bloomingdale’s, Lerner of New York, Neiman Marcus, Dillard’s, Limited Too, Nordstrom, Express, Lord & Taylor and Parisian Inc.
The recall covers some sweaters under these brand names and retail numbers: BCBG Maxazeria, 80734; 525 Made in America, 61680; Maille Ishyu, 78635; Sisters, 84332; Karen Kane Lifestyle Petite, 59168; Karen Kane Lifestyle, 59168; Karen Kane, 59168; The Limited, 54867; Express Tricot, 54867; and N.Y. Jeans, 23243.
