Pacific Gateway Homes Appoints Lamkin President

Pacific Gateway Homes has promoted Rita Lamkin to president of the building company.

Lamkin, who becomes one of the few female chief executives in the industry, succeeds one of the founders, Horace Hogan. He has accepted a position planning and developing agricultural land for a private landowner in Northern California.

Lamkin said she hopes to expand the company to the point where it is selling 500 homes a year across Southern California. Pacific Gateway, which is owned by Canadian home builder Ken Field, is expecting to sell 300 homes in Orange and Riverside counties this year, twice the number it sold last year. The builder currently has communities for sale in Orange, Corona and Aliso Viejo.

Prior to joining Pacific Gateway in 1995, Lamkin was vice president of sales and marketing for Greystone Homes South Coast division. She also was a partner and vice president of development for Trammell Crow Residential and a senior vice president for Arvida. She started her career in the 1970s at the Irvine Co. where she handled marketing for the planned community of Woodbridge.
