Police Department Promotes 3 Veterans
The Simi Valley Police Department has announced three high-level promotions.
Lt. Tony Harper, a 21-year veteran of the force, will be promoted to captain in January and take the place of retiring Capt. Jerry Boyce. The spot is one of two captain slots. Harper will be the commander in charge of uniformed officers, while Capt. Dick Wright will continue to oversee the department’s support services and detectives division.
Also on the promotions list announced Tuesday are 21-year veteran Sgt. Mike Brewer and Officer John McGinty, who has been on the force for eight years.
Brewer will be promoted to lieutenant, and McGinty will become a sergeant.
