Since then, the Kings have gone 1-7-1, while the Coyotes’ 7-3 mark has them tied for the third-best record in the Western Conference. The Kings have won only three of their last 16 games and are winless in their last seven. Since defeating Colorado, 4-2, at the Forum on Dec. 7, the Kings have given up an average of five goals a game.

Coyote update--Jeremy Roenick’s third-period goal gave Phoenix a 2-1 win over the Mighty Ducks on Monday in Anaheim as the Coyotes improved to 8-7 on the road. Forward Keith Tkachuk leads the team with 33 points and 19 goals. Oleg Tverdovsky is among the league’s top-scoring defensemen with 23 points and eight goals. A key for Phoenix’s 7-3 streak has been the play of goalie Nikolai Khabibulin, who made 37 saves against the Mighty Ducks to improve to 7-14-3.
