U.S. Funds Sought for Fairfax Area
Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Feuer is organizing efforts to create a Los Angeles Neighborhood Improvement Initiative district in the Fairfax area, which could bring $300,000 into the community to launch revitalization efforts.
The neighborhood initiative program, coordinated by the city and funded by Federal Transit Administration money, is designed to bring seed money for community projects into mass transit-dependent neighborhoods.
Feuer has organized a community meeting for Jan. 7 to solicit suggestions for the grant application, which is due to the mayor’s office by Jan. 15.
