San Fernando Man’s Body Found
Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives on Friday identified a bullet-riddled body found in a deserted Palmdale area as that of Martin Armenta of San Fernando.
Armenta’s body was found by a motorist around midafternoon on Christmas Eve about 150 yards from 90th Street and Avenue M-8, said Sgt. Jerry Kaono.
The 35-year-old man, who owned a restaurant in San Fernando, was reported missing by his wife, Eva Armenta, on Dec. 19, Kaono said. His wife reported last seeing him leaving home Dec. 17.
She said an 18-year-old who has not been identified accompanied him, Kaono said.
“There’s not a lot of information on the second person, but they were last seen together by witnesses,” Kaono said.
Detectives are working with officials from Mexico to learn more about the second man, who they believe is a Mexican national, Kaono said.
There are no suspects or motives so far in the case, he said.
