David Robinson is expected to be out at least six weeks after surgery on his broken left foot.

San Antonio Spurs team physician David Schmidt said Friday that Robinson could be playing again in six weeks, but he wouldn’t rule out a longer recovery.

Some Spurs players had suggested they would be without the All-Star center eight weeks.

“We’re shooting for a time line of six weeks. That [eight-week estimate] is something that’s entirely possible,” Schmidt said, adding that Robinson could be out as many as 12 weeks.

The Miami Heat’s road winning streak and injury report both keep getting longer.

The hobbled Heat has won 13 consecutive road games, matching the third-longest streak in NBA history.

Center Alonzo Mourning played only 90 seconds in the second half of Friday’s 101-86 victory at Charlotte before departing for good with back spasms. Forward Kurt Thomas sat out the second half with a sprained right ankle.

Swingman Dan Majerle and reserve guard Gary Grant were already sidelined with back injuries. Majerle is on the injured list, and Grant may soon join him.

Mourning and Thomas are listed as day-to-day. Mourning is considered more likely to be able to play today against the Milwaukee Bucks.

“My back has tightened up before, but never like this,” Mourning said after Friday’s game. “I thought I could come back. Then I tried to stand up and almost fell to the ground.”

The Heat didn’t practice Saturday. They need three more road victories to match the NBA record of 16 set by the 1971-72 Lakers.
