Hawerchuk, Hunter Are Bettman’s Picks

Centers Dale Hawerchuk of the Philadelphia Flyers and Dale Hunter of the Washington Capitals have been added to the Eastern Conference team for the NHL All-Star game as special selections by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. . . . The Phoenix Coyotes recalled one-time King property Parris Duffus from Las Vegas of the International Hockey League to replace goalie Darcy Wakaluk, who was put on injured reserve. Wakaluk, backup to Nikolai Khabibulin, is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery today and could be sidelined for six weeks.
