Porous Defense Irks Robinson

The Kings have given up 160 goals this season, the most in the Pacific Division, and only Toronto, Boston and Montreal have yielded more in the league.
“The team that we are, really showed,” Coach Larry Robinson said about the Kings, who lost the first two games after the All-Star break by a combined score of 11-3. “Our guys just played at the end of their sticks. . . . If I was a player, I’d at least be a little mad, upset or something about the way the team is playing or with how the game is going, but with us, there is no reaction.”

Forward Yanic Perreault’s goal in a 7-2 loss at San Jose on Wednesday--in his fifth game back since being sidelined nearly a month because of a stomach injury--was his first since Nov. 7. . . . Both of the Kings’ goals against the Sharks were on the power play, marking the first time they have had more than one power-play goal in a game since Dec. 3.
