Comparative Musicals
I had an usual experience at the movies last weekend.
I saw two movie musicals and enjoyed them both.
Unfortunately, the more enjoyable of the two, “Everyone Says I Love You,” played to a nearly empty theater, while “Evita” was packing in the crowds.
It’s unfortunate that movies made by Woody Allen are attended by only his regular fans, no matter how good they are.
Judging by the applause at the end of his movie and the silence at the end of “Evita,” many moviegoers are missing out on a very entertaining movie.
