Deputies Targeting Roads Near Amgen

A construction zone near the Amgen complex in Thousand Oaks that seems to bring out the worst in drivers has been designated the Traffic Tip of the Week by east county sheriff’s deputies.
From today to Saturday, deputies will be on the lookout for drivers who exceed the speed limit on Rancho Conejo Boulevard at Hillcrest Drive, according to Sgt. Ken Bailey. The area is near a construction site and is heavily congested with construction and nonconstruction traffic, he said.
The speed limit in the area is 25 mph, and Bailey said deputies will be aggressively enforcing the speed limit this week.
Those who exceed the speed limit and are ticketed will have their fines doubled by the court, Bailey said.
