Saddleback Scores in Seventh to Beat Eagles

Greg Ferrell’s seventh-inning double scored Kirk Bolling with the winning run as Saddleback defeated Mt. San Jacinto, 3-2, Saturday in the Nike Classic at Saddleback College.
Ferrell had three hits and Michael Palumbo got the victory with 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief for Saddleback, which improved to 3-0. The Eagles are 1-3 after defeating Orange Coast, 8-3, in a later game.
In other Nike Classic games:
Golden West 21, Antelope Valley 8--Josh Roberts had five hits and scored five runs to lead Golden West (2-1) in the second of two games.
In an earlier game, Monterey Peninsula scored twice on three hits and an error to beat Golden West, 2-0.
Fullerton 9, Monterey Peninsula 2--Rick Parmenter gave up one hit over eight innings and struck out five in a victory over Monterey Peninsula (1-3). Bo Bryant had five hits, including two triples, with four runs batted in for the Hornets (3-0).
Keith Jones had two home runs and seven RBIs in Fullerton’s 12-5 victory over Antelope Valley (0-3) in the first game.
Mt. San Jacinto 8, Orange Coast 3--Eric Turner struck out 10 in 5 2/3 innings but was the loser for Orange Coast.
In the Citrus Classic:
Rancho Santiago 17, Citrus 7 (7 innings)--Kevin Buford had a double, a home run and four RBIs for Rancho Santiago (3-0) in the second of two games.
