The mood in the dressing room after Sunday’s 5-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche was as downcast as it has been in months, according to right wing Teemu Selanne.
“Nobody said anything in here after the game,” he said. “Everybody knew what the problem was.”
And what was that?
“Somehow we weren’t ready to play in the third period,” he said. “This was one of those games where we learned we have to play harder. We didn’t play well defensively. Or as well as we usually play defensively.
“That was what was so disappointing.”
The Ducks placed forward Ted Drury, expected to be sidelined at least two weeks because of a broken right wrist, on the injured reserve list. . . . Right wing Craig Reichert was recalled from Baltimore of the American Hockey League. . . . Right wing Frank Banham was assigned to Baltimore.
