A weekly update on the Mighty Ducks.

February comes in looking a lot like October for the Ducks, whose drive for a playoff berth takes a beating with injuries and a three-game losing streak. Here’s a look at what’s ahead.

* Where they stand: 20-27-6 (46 points), fourth in the Pacific Division, ninth in the Western Conference.

* Who’s hot: The scoring line (Paul Kariya, Steve Rucchin and Teemu Selanne) is the lone bright spot.

* Who’s not: Mistakes on defense add up to losses against the Avalanche, Islanders and Maple Leafs.

UPCOMING

* Saturday, at Edmonton (7:30 p.m., KCAL-TV Channel 9): The Oilers are 7-1-1 in their last nine games and Doug Weight has some serious words for one-line teams in the Western Conference playoff race. “We’ve got four lines that we can throw out there against anybody and can produce goals,” he told the Associated Press. “There’s no one that needs to score every night. We’ve got great depth and every guy’s just got to be accountable to the guy next to him.”

* Sunday, at Calgary (5 p.m., KCAL-TV Channel 9): After a 3-2 loss to the Kings last Monday, Theoren Fleury was complaining about his team’s habit of playing well for just one period, not three. Old habits die hard. On Wednesday, the Flames led, 2-0, midway through the first period. Edmonton dominated the next two periods for a 5-2 victory.

* Wednesday, Toronto (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports West 2): Mats Sundin makes it clear what this game and week means to the Maple Leafs. “I think the next two weeks, our destiny is going to be set for the rest of the year,” he said. “We have to beat Anaheim . . . we have to beat Los Angeles and Vancouver and these teams to make it into the playoffs.”
