In Full Bloom

Share

Spring is busting out all over bedrooms adorned with Josef Frank’s works for the Brunschwig & Fils print collection.

The collection--which comes from the textile archives of the late Frank, an Austrian architect and designer--is a departure from the company’s usual patterns. This look is bolder and on a larger scale.

There are nine prints in the line, including floral designs, trees of life and exotic continental maps. Prices vary, depending on the item.

The La Plata cotton and linen print, shown here, has three distinct sizes for the floral motif--intermingling clematis vines, citrus fruits and other leaves and blossoms--which give it some depth, a sense of openness and liveliness.

The complete Josef Frank line is available at the Brunschwig & Fils showroom, 114 Design Center South, 23811 Aliso Creek Road, Laguna Niguel, (714) 831-5666.

Stacking Up

Get a better grip on your cookware with T-Fal’s latest offerings.

The 10-piece Ingenio collection is the company’s first line with detachable handles.

Because the handles come off completely, stacking your pieces is a cinch. This is a big blessing to those short on kitchen space.

The pans, part of T-Fal’s top-of-the-line Armaral nonstick collection, can go from the stove to the oven then to the refrigerator, eliminating the need for containers to store leftovers.

The pans have a granite-textured finish for durability and easy cleanup.

The 10-piece set (about $160) includes 10 1/4- and 11-inch saute pans, a 3.6-quart chicken fryer, 1-, 2- and 3-quart saucepans, two handles and two covers designed to fit all the pan sizes.

The collection is at department stores and kitchen boutiques throughout the county.

La Vie en Rose

First the Flower Carpet Rose was pretty in pink. Now, it’s a wonder in white.

Flower Carpet White, new this year, has a different look than its sister, Flower Carpet Pink, introduced in 1995.

The white rose has a clean bloom, similar to a camellia. It is bigger and fragrant, yet it too is disease-resistant and easy to care for. Like the pink version, it will bloom in nearly any area of the country.

Flower Carpet White, a shrub rose, is ideal for mass ground-cover plantings on hillsides and along fences or roadsides. It can also be grown in containers.

Unlike other white roses, the petals will not brown on the bush, even after rain. The petals remain white for the life of the flower.

Flower Carpet White roses (about $16 each) are expected in county stores within two weeks. For the closest retailer, call (800) 580-5930.
