Black History Is Celebrated

A celebration of Black History Month continues through Feb. 28 at Cal State Fullerton.

Books about African American heritage, history and politics are on display in the university library’s south building. The celebration will include:

* Ernest Smith of Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Center in Los Angeles speaking on “Graffiti and Black Adolescents in L.A.” in the University Center, Tuffree Room, at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

* African artifacts on display in the library Tuesday through Friday.

* A lecture by Smith on Ebonics in the Humanities-Social Sciences Building, Room 412, at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

* Pyrastele Pan Ensemble performing in the Becker Amphitheater from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.

* Robin Huff speaking on “The Psychosocial Factors to Consider When Treating African American Clients” in Humanities, Room 412, at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 27.

* A family barbecue at noon Feb. 27 on the Performing Arts Lawn while the Pyrastele Pan Ensemble performs in the Becker Amphitheater; the Soul Music Ensemble at 6 p.m. in the Becker Amphitheater; and at 6:30 p.m. an African clothing fashion show in the Ruby Gerontology Center, Room 13.
