A popular program for seniors in St. Petersburg, Fla., is called “Fun in the Sun” at the Crystal Bay Resort. Rooms may be booked for two weeks to one month. They start at $875 per month, per person, double occupancy, and range up to $1,695, depending on the season. Twice-weekly maid and towel service, and two meals a day are included. Charges may be added for an extra-large room or a refrigerator.

Daily breakfasts include hot cakes, cereals, sausage, juices or hot and cold cereals. Dinner items include honey roasted chicken, seafood pasta, roast beef, baked ham and desserts. Lunch, which is not included, may be taken at any number of eateries in the St. Petersburg area.

Crystal Bay is close to entertainment, shopping and parks.

For an extra fee, guests can get a courtesy bus to shopping and churches, airport transportation via limo service, and transportation to local restaurants and sightseeing.

The Black Cat Guest Ranch in Alberta, Canada, is offering a program for seniors from May 11 to 16 titled Springtime in the Rockies. In conjunction with Elderhostel, the five-night program offers activities such as line and western dance classes, creative writing, pottery making and hiking.
