King update--Defenseman Sean O’Donnell has three goals and seven points in his last five games, including a goal in the Kings’ 2-2 tie with Edmonton on Saturday night. Forward Eddie Olczyk has scored only one of his 17 goals in the first period, but has scored in two consecutive games. Forward Roman Vopat has not scored a goal and has only one assist in the last five games, but he has played well since being recalled on Feb. 5. “We’re very happy with him,” King Coach Larry Robinson said. “But the knock on him has been his consistency. So the jury is still out on him. We have to give him some more games.”

Star update--They have the second-best road record in the NHL at 29-17-10 and trail only Colorado for the best overall mark in the Western Conference with 70 points. Former King Neal Broten’s overtime goal gave Dallas a 2-1 victory on Feb. 9 for the Stars’ second win over the Kings within a month. Center Mike Modano, who did not play because of flu against the Kings two weeks ago, leads the team with 23 goals and 53 points.
