Point Mugu Federal Credit Union has received permission from federal regulators to serve everyone who lives, works or worships in Ventura County.
“As the only credit union that can provide service to the entire county, PMFCU is now positioned to become a major player in the Ventura County consumer lending and savings marketplace,” said Ron McDaniel, chief executive officer.
The Point Mugu credit union was established in 1948 by civil service employees stationed at the Navy facility. Branches are located in Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura and Point Mugu, and plans are in the works to open an office in the Thousand Oaks/Conejo Valley area.
The credit union reported assets of more than $125 million, with 32,000 members as of Dec. 31.
