King update--The Kings are hoping to remain undefeated against the Coyotes after outscoring them, 9-3, in two games. The Kings have not won in six games (0-4-2) and have won only once in their last eight. Defenseman Sean O’Donnell has four goals and four assists in his last six games. Goaltender Byron Dafoe, who won two starts against Phoenix this season, is expected to start.

Coyote update--The Coyotes have been an average team throughout the season, but with 54 points they would qualify for the Western Conference playoffs if they began today. Phoenix is 5-5 in its last 10 games and 10-11 since losing to the Kings at the Forum on Dec. 26. Left wing Keith Tkachuk leads the team with 37 goals and 63 points and defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky is tops with 35 assists.
