Duck update--Their games against the Coyotes today and Vancouver on Sunday are critical as they play two teams they’re chasing for a playoff spot. Win both, and they’re back in the thick of it. Lose them, and the gulf grows wide. “These are four-pointers, as much as [the King game],” Coach Ron Wilson said. “We need to play with a sense of urgency, the way we did last year.” Players talked of learning a lesson and putting the King loss behind them. “We’ve said that a lot,” Wilson said. “We have very short memories.” Brian Bellows (groin) and Warren Rychel (hand) are questionable, and Sean Pronger (abdominal strain) is doubtful.

Coyote update--They’ve won four of their last five and are coming off a 6-1 victory over the Kings on Tuesday. Keith Tkachuk leads the team with 63 points and winger Mike Gartner is hot, with 10 points in the last six games. Former Duck Oleg Tverdovsky, part of the deal for Teemu Selanne last season, is third in scoring among NHL defensemen with 43 points and has emerged as a confident point man on the power play.
