Kenny Rogers--singer, actor, photographer and roasted chicken mogul--comes to the Universal Amphitheatre this Sunday for a concert. Rogers has been scoring hits for over 30 years. His track record includes three Grammys, nine platinum albums, one platinum single and a handful of gold singles and albums. His hits include “Ruby,” “Lucille,” “The Gambler,” “She Believes in Me,” “Lady,” “You Decorated My Life” and “Through the Years.”
Opening for Rogers will be the Thighmaster Queen herself, Suzanne Somers. Somers made her film debut in George Lucas’ “American Graffiti” as the mysterious woman in the Thunderbird, and later became a star in the TV sitcom “Three’s Company.” Like Rogers, Somers has branched out from her show business roots to other activities. She’s written books and started several businesses, including Thighmaster, which she oversees with her husband-manager Alan Hamel.
* Kenny Rogers, Suzanne Somers (Universal Amphitheatre, Universal City, [213] 252-TIXS) Sat., 8:15 p.m. $23-$48.
