Regency Health Services Profit Rises

Regency Health Services Inc., which provides health care and related services, posted profits of $5.2 million, or 32 cents a share, last year, after taking $6.8 million in one-time charges, mostly stemming from corporate streamlining and other restructuring activities. In comparison, the company earned $2.8 million, or 17 cents a share, in the prior year. Revenue was up 34% to $558.1 million from $416.1 million in the prior period.

The company lost $3 million, or 19 cents a share, during the fourth quarter, compared with a loss of $6.1 million, or 36 cents a share, in the fourth quarter the year before. Revenue totaled $146.4 million, up 31.5% from $111.3 million.
