Nobody ever said the pro sports leagues have to be consistent, but last season. . . .
--Baltimore Oriole second baseman Roberto Alomar spit at an umpire and will serve a five-game suspension.
--The Bulls’ Dennis Rodman butted a referee and got six games.
--The Lakers’ Nick Van Exel gave a referee a forearm shove and got seven games.
This week, the Ducks’ J.J. Daigneault accidentally hit a referee with his stick, then deliberately swung and missed--and got 10 games.
“It’s a little extreme, giving J.J. 10 games,” said Daigneault’s agent, Ron Salcer.
