It’s Just Desserts for Good Students
Being a good student at Walker Junior High School has its sweet rewards.
The Lions Club is treating more than 400 Walker students to root beer floats this week, dishing up the ice cream for those who received good grades or good citizenship marks on their first semester report cards.
The Lions Club has been rewarding students with ice cream treats for five years, Assistant Principal Deborah Boyer said.
“They know when it’s coming and remind us if it hasn’t happened yet,” Boyer said.
“They love it, and it’s a good reward for them.”
