Boundary Debate to Be Continued
A debate over redrawing middle school attendance boundaries will continue at the March 7 session of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District’s trustees.
The board is reviewing options to relieve classroom overcrowding. Possibilities besides changing boundaries would be moving some sixth graders to middle schools and building a new school.
The proposals have drawn sharp criticism from parents, and school board members said they want to address that.
“I’m concerned about making a decision tonight with so little information,” trustee Craig Olson said at Tuesday night’s board meeting.
Schools that could be affected are Rio Vista Elementary and Glenview Elementary in Anaheim; Bryant Ranch Elementary, Bernardo Yorba Middle, Travis Ranch Middle and Yorba Linda Middle in Yorba Linda; and Topaz Elementary in Fullerton.
