Why County Shuns Meetings on TV

Share

* Here are 10 reasons why members of the Ventura County Board of Supervisors have not provided us with television coverage of their meetings:

10. Lack of funding--if only they could get their hands on that Moorpark Mosquito Abatement money.

9. They cannot reach a consensus on whether bad hair days would constitute a blackout.

8. Supervisor Judy Mikels believes there would be very few people to watch. And for them she has three words of advice: Get a job.

7. The supervisors want to maintain their status as the only county around not televised.

6. They cannot agree on who would receive top billing.

5. A frightening realization they might play a role that actually serves the people.

4. Government channels can’t compete with all those ab machine infomercials.

3. Those five or 10 pounds the camera adds are just too much to bare.

2. The multitude of minutiae coupled with droning presentations could be hazardous to one’s health.

1. Give the opposition equal time? I don’t think so. . . .
