County Fair Themes Set Through 2000
State history, natural resources, cultural diversity and Hollywood glitz will be celebrated at Orange County fairs planned from 1998 to 2000.
“Golden Discoveries” will be the theme for 1998. It is planned as a salute to major industries including wine, citrus, oil, entertainment, aerospace, the Gold Rush and technology.
In 1999, the fair’s 50th anniversary, organizers will recognize “California’s Rich Heritage,” a celebration of natural resources, diversity and a talent pool that makes the state distinct and competitive.
“Planet Fair” is the theme for 2000, a salute to agricultural innovations and futuristic visions of the 21st century.
Organizers already are preparing for this summer’s theme, “We’re Going Tropical,” with a focus on fish, fruits, nuts and the Pacific Islands for the July 11-27 run.
