Minneapolis-based Jostens Inc. said it will close its Porterville plant, fire 200 workers and take a $3-million, first-quarter charge to cover the cost. . . . San Francisco-based Pacific Telesis Group will challenge a proposal that it refund $750 million to California ratepayers as a condition of being acquired by SBC Communications Inc. for about $18.1 billion in stock. . . . San Mateo-based Electronic Arts Inc. said it bought a minority stake in Accolade Inc., a San Jose-based closely held video-game maker, and agreed to become the exclusive distributor of Accolade products. Terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed. . . . Oakley Inc. said it has laid off more than 100 manufacturing plant employees in recent weeks because of weaker-than-expected demand for its pricey sunglasses. Layoffs in the company’s Irvine plant reduced Oakley’s full-time employment total to 580, down from 700 a year ago, said Oakley Executive Vice President Link Newcomb.
