Ainge, Barry Have Wrath of Fitch in Common
Phoenix Sun Coach Danny Ainge knows what Brent Barry is going through.
Ainge was Bill Fitch’s whipping boy in his first two seasons with the Boston Celtics.
“I was the No. 1 draft pick and I was making more than the veterans,” Ainge said. “He was really hard on me for the first two years.”
Said Barry: “I think Danny’s probably somebody I’d like to talk to after the season is over. Maybe we can compare some stories. It’s not a test for my confidence. There’s no way I’d let anybody take away my confidence and my love for the game of basketball. I’m just working and doing the things that I know are going to get me better for next season.”

Fitch, on Thursday night’s 112-96 loss to the Phoenix Suns: “When you lose a game like that you hide. You don’t come out until the sun shades are down. . . . I spent a lot of time watching film. I should get hazardous-duty pay for watching that film.”
