Bicyclist Dies After Colliding With Car
An elderly Oxnard man died late Saturday from injuries suffered when he fell from his bicycle after striking a car.
Rafael Ramos Garcia, 71, died at St. John’s Regional Medical Center at 10:15 p.m. from severe head injuries.
According to investigators, Garcia was riding south on Saviers Road about 8:20 a.m. when he collided with a vehicle driven by Fernando Diaz, 20, of Oxnard, who was turning onto Date Street.
Police said no charges were filed against Diaz and an investigation is continuing.
