Daigneault Set to Return Friday

Trade talk was still quiet with Tuesday’s deadline closing in, but the Ducks will have an addition to their lineup Friday no matter what.

Defenseman J.J. Daigneault has served nine games of his 10-game NHL suspension and will be eligible to return against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver after sitting out Wednesday’s game against the Kings.

“It will be almost like a trade,” Coach Ron Wilson said. “J.J. Daigneault will make a huge difference, the way he passes the puck and gets it out of our own end,” Wilson said.

Right wing Roman Oksiuta, lodged in Wilson’s doghouse, made a rare lineup appearance, but it was because of a slight knee injury to Peter LeBoutillier, not an attempt to display Oksiuta as trade bait.
