Deadline Is April 30 on School Transfers
The deadline for parents to submit requests for open enrollment transfers in the Garden Grove Unified School District is April 30.
Requests should be submitted to the district’s child welfare and attendance office in the Education Center, 10331 Stanford Ave.
Brochures explaining the open enrollment process and options for school attendance in the district are available in all school offices and in the district office. Brochures are printed in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean.
A student in the district may attend any district school, provided that there is space, that neighborhood children aren’t displaced and that the transfer doesn’t impact the racial and ethnic balance of the school. Transportation is not provided for students attending schools on transfers.
Because of enrollment growth and class-size reduction, only 17 of the district’s 43 elementary schools have space for potential transfers.
All intermediate and high schools have openings.
