Team Will Pursue Free Agents

According to General Manager Sam McMaster, the Kings did not come close to making a trade other than the one they made Tuesday in sending veteran Eddie Olczyk to Pittsburgh for winger Glen Murray. But, McMaster said the team will be active in the free-agent market after the season.

“Once the season ends and the playoffs are done completely, we will pursue unrestricted free agents,” McMaster said. “We are going to look at the market and see how we can improve our club.”

King Coach Larry Robinson on his team’s remaining games: “We still have a mathematical chance to make the playoffs. So, we have to play every game like it is our last, whether the guys are playing for the playoffs or just fighting for a position to stay with the team.”
