Arkansas Gets Past UNLV

Tarik Wallace and Pat Bradley led a 32-15 second-half run as Arkansas pulled away to an 86-73 victory over Nevada Las Vegas in an NIT quarterfinal game Wednesday night at Fayetteville, Ark.

Arkansas (18-12) will face the winner of tonight’s Notre Dame-Michigan game in the semifinals in New York on Tuesday.

UNLV finished 22-10.

Florida State 76, West Virginia 71--James Collins scored 24 points and injury-plagued Corey Louis came off the bench for 14 to lead the Seminoles (19-11) at Morgantown, W.Va. Florida State will play the winner of Friday night’s Nebraska-Connecticut game in the semifinals Tuesday.

DIVISION II

Kebu Stewart, Cal State Bakersfield’s 6-foot-8 senior center, scored all 17 of his points in the second half to lead the No. 7 Roadrunners (27-4) to a 65-62 victory over Southern Connecticut (28-4) in an NCAA Division II quarterfinal at Louisville, Ky. Stewart is a transfer from UNLV.

Azusa Pacific let a 13-point lead slip away but still defeated Columbia (Mo.) College, 61-55, in the first round of the NAIA tournament at Tulsa, Okla. The Cougars (29-7) face Central Washington today. . . . The Master’s College of Santa Clarita was eliminated by Birmingham (Ala.) Southern, 73-70, as backup guard William Burdette made seven of 13 three-point shots and scored 23 points.
