ATM Thieves Strike Orange Bowling Alley
A pair of robbers pried open the front door of a bowling alley early Monday and hauled off an automated teller machine, police said.
About 6 a.m., two armed men backed their vehicle to the front door of Regal Lanes Bowling Center in the 1400 block of North Tustin Avenue and broke into the business, where they encountered a maintenance worker, Police Lt. Ed Tunstall said. The men ordered the maintenance worker on the ground while they wrested the ATM from its floor mounting, Tunstall said.
The employee was not injured.
California United Bank, which operates the ATM, declined to comment on the amount of cash lost.
