Still exploring the convoluted pasts of two bank robbers shot to death last month in a televised shootout in North Hollywood, Los Angeles police detectives are now trying to find the widow of one of the men. . . . They plan to release a photo today of a woman believed to have been the wife of Larry Eugene Phillips Jr., who along with Emil Matasareanu died in the Feb. 28 gun battle.

With a flourishing Hollywood gobbling up San Fernando Valley office space, a new partnership has taken over the troubled Palladian World Center project in Glendale, promising to break ground by summer. If that happens, the 24-story tower would be the first large office building since the recession to be built “on spec”--without tenants already signed up. The need for such space has been largely “entertainment driven,” said Pete Hillman, one of the partners in the project (D11A).
