Western Digital to Buy Back 5 Million Shares

Directors of Western Digital Corp. authorized the buy-back on the open market of an additional 5 million shares of common stock.

The Irvine maker of hard disk drives said it already has repurchased 10.5 million shares for about $243.8 million under two previous authorizations since February 1995. The prices ranged from $13.25 to $64.375 a share.
