Assailant Sought in Stabbing of Man, 25

Authorities are searching for a suspect in a stabbing that left a 25-year-old man hospitalized.
Sheriff’s deputies responding to a call of a stabbing victim in an apartment in the 500 block of Central Avenue about 10 p.m. Friday found family members attending to Jose Estrella of Fillmore, who had been stabbed numerous times, according to Deputy R.L. Zermeno.
Witnesses said they were having a party when the uninvited assailant arrived and refused to leave. He began fighting with Estrella, stabbed him repeatedly and then fled, Zermeno said. Deputies say they identified but could not find the suspect.
Estrella was taken to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery. He was in stable condition Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
