Drizzle and Gusty, Cool Winds Forecast

Share

The San Fernando Valley will be cool and breezy this week, with some drizzle this morning, weather forecasters said Sunday.

The drizzle will give way to gusty winds of 20 to 30 mph in the afternoon, forecasters said, and skies will be clear. “You’ll see sun again,” said Bill Hoffer, a spokesman for the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

In the mountain and desert areas, the winds will reach 40 to 50 mph.

“Essentially, we’re settling in for a breezy and cool pattern,” said Jay Stockton, a National Weather Service meteorologist.

The winter storm system that is bringing the Valley cold air, if not much precipitation, started to come into the area Sunday. “The cold air will be building in behind that and break up the marine layer,” Stockton said.

High temperatures will not getabove the 60s all week, and the cool, breezy pattern could continue into the middle of next week, Hoffer said.

In Burbank today the high temperature is expected to be 65, and in Woodland Hills, the mercury will reach 66.
