In what police are calling the last in a series of arrests, four alleged members of a gang from South Los Angeles and Carson, who authorities believe are responsible for the death of an armored car employee, will be arraigned today on charges of murder and robbery.

Homicide detectives said Emanuel Brown, 26, Kendrick Loot, 25, Bruce Milsap, 30, and Rashbone Colston, who is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, are responsible for the February 1996 killing of armored car contractor James Moon while he picked up money from a Carson school.

The four are also allegedly responsible for a series of other robberies and killings in Lakewood, Long Beach, Garden Grove, Bellflower, Los Angeles, Stanton and San Bernardino, deputies said.

In all, deputies allege that the four men, along with 17 of their associates, are responsible for more than 65 violent crimes--including 21 murders and four attempted murders.

All of the gang members are in custody, deputies said.

“It is difficult to describe accurately to the public the amount of manpower and physical resources that it took to combat this gang,” homicide detectives said in a statement released Monday.

“Their crime spree was so broad in scope, so unrepentant, so murderous, that investigators worked around the clock, seven days a week, months on end, to bring this reign of terror to an end.”
