Duck update--Guy Hebert is scheduled to start in goal tonight following a three-game break after battling fatigue after starting 42 of the previous 43 games. The Ducks’ first trip to the playoffs is within reach, and three of their final four games are against teams that have already been eliminated.

Shark update--San Jose has long been out of the playoff picture and has lost eight of its last 10 games, including a 7-1 loss at Phoenix on Tuesday. Center Bernie Nicholls is out for the season after surgery to remove a benign tumor in his bladder as well as to repair a hernia. With left wing Viktor Kozlov hobbled by a badly bruised ankle, that means the Sharks are missing two of their top four scorers.
