Deion Sanders hopes everyone is satisfied--and Robinson is honored--by the Cincinnati Reds’ new road look.

Rather than force Sanders to drop his personal tribute to Robinson, the Reds decided to change their road uniforms to conform with Sanders’ short-sleeve look.

The center fielder drew the National League’s wrath this week by shortening the sleeves on his road jersey so he could look more like Robinson. His teammates agreed to adopt the look, conforming with league rules that everyone have the same sleeve length.

“I think if you’re going to succeed, you succeed as a team in unity,” General Manager Jim Bowden said. “The issue over the sleeves is not something I want to divide the clubhouse. The intention was to honor Jackie Robinson, and we’re happy that the Reds can do it in a way that’s going to attract national attention.”

Philadelphia Phillie right fielder Danny Tartabull will be out at least six weeks after a test detected breaks in his left foot.

Team physician Phillip Marone said Tartabull had hairline-like breaks in the front and near the heel of his foot and will be put on the disabled list.

Tartabull, a free-agent signed to a $2.3-million contract, fouled a ball off his foot in the season opener and has been hobbled ever since.

Joining Tartabull on the disabled list will be utility man Rex Hudler, who pulled his left hamstring after getting his first hit of the season in the sixth inning of the Phillies’ 8-3 loss to the San Diego Padres on Friday.

He started the Rockies’ inaugural game in 1993 yet never pitched in more than 22 games in parts of four seasons because of injuries and personal problems.
