Rouwenhorst Gets One-Hit Shutout Victory

Jonathan Rouwenhorst came within three outs of a no-hitter and settled for a one-hit shutout to lead host Brethren Christian past Cerritos Valley Christian, 5-0, in an Olympic League baseball game Friday.

Rouwenhorst improved to 6-0, striking out 11 and walking two for the Warriors (10-5, 3-2 in league). He gave up a leadoff single in the seventh.

Teammate Sean Ireland hit a home run in the fourth and Rouwenhorst hit an RBI double in Brethren Christian’s four-run sixth inning. Rouwenhorst also stole home in the inning.
