Simi Needs to Direct Funds to Families

Share

The safest city in the nation, Simi Valley, has been operating out of a police station currently valued at $3 million. Now our City Council wants to build a $12-million police station.

At a time when most families are struggling financially, our city decides it needs more of our hard-earned tax dollars. I know some of our hard-working police officers who are also trying to figure out how to buy their first home or a safe vehicle for their new family.

I suggest that the Simi Valley police officers scrutinize the plans for the new building and decide what they feel is needed to continue providing quality service. Any cost-saving ideas they generate should be recognized by awarding them a Christmas bonus at the end of the year. It’s time our government leaders focused on ways to get money back into families, where it is needed most!
