MetroStars Get First Victory, 3-1

Giovanni Savarese scored his first two goals of the season Saturday as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars won their first game of the season, topping the New England Revolution, 3-1, before 20,328 at East Rutherford, N.J.
The MetroStars (1-3) got the game-winner by Savarese in the 55th minute, and added an insurance goal in the 74th by A.J. Wood. The Revolution is 1-2.
Washington 5, Colorado 2--Raul Diaz Arce scored four goals as D.C. United defeated the Rapids in front of 4,434, the smallest crowd in MLS history, who braved 20-degree temperatures at Denver.
Diaz Arce gave Washington (2-0) a 2-0 lead with goals at the ninth and 26th minutes. The Rapids (1-2) came back to tie the game just before the half, but Diaz Arce scored the game-winner with a penalty kick in the 64th minute.
Tampa Bay 2, Kansas City 1--Steve Ralston scored with nine minutes left to give the Mutiny (3-0) the victory over the Wizards (1-1) in front of 9,152 at Tampa.
Ralston, the MLS rookie of the year in 1996, scored with a low shot from the top of the six-yard box in the 81st minute.
