JetHawks Rally, but Storm Has Final Burst in 9th Inning

The Lancaster JetHawks scored four runs in the seventh and eighth innings to tie Sunday’s game against the Lake Elsinore Storm, but the Storm scored a run on three consecutive singles to start the bottom of the ninth and won, 6-5, before 5,563 at the Diamond.

JetHawk left-hander Denny Bonilla (0-2) started the ninth and gave up singles to Richard Stuart and Larry Barnes before Ty Bilderback’s game-winner.

The JetHawks (6-5), who have lost two in a row for the first time, trailed 5-1 before scoring a run in the seventh and three in eighth to tie the game, 5-5. Shawn Buhner had two of the JetHawks’ seven hits, running his hitting streak to six games.

The JetHawks will try to avoid a sweep in the three-game series with a game at 7:05 tonight at Lake Elsinore.
