In other Sunset League games:

Marina 4, Huntington Beach 0--Heather Hagen threw her first no-hitter and had 10 strikeouts and one walk for Marina (9-7-1, 2-0).

In the Academy League:

Capistrano Valley Christian 15, Orangewood Academy 0 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Lauren Capriotti pitched her first no-hitter, with 13 strikeouts and four walks, and she also homered for the host Eagles (5-5, 2-0).

In the Century League:

Canyon 6, Villa Park 0--Veronica Lopez struck out 13 and didn’t give up a hit until Villa Park’s Heather Culver hit a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh. Lopez hit a grand slam in the top of the seventh to break open the game for visiting Canyon (15-7-1, 2-0).

Foothill 9, Orange 0--Lindsay Fossatti (9-1) had a perfect game through 5 1/3 innings and she finished with a one-hitter and 13 strikeouts for second-ranked Foothill (17-2-1, 2-0). Cheri Nierman had three hits and two RBIs for the Knights.

In the Empire League:

Kennedy 1, Cypress 0--Nicole Crouse and Traci Hensel (8-2) combined on a no-hitter, striking out five and walking two for Kennedy (12-5, 2-0). Michelle Cross scored the only run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning for the Fighting Irish.

In the Freeway League:

Sonora 6, Sunny Hills 0--Freshman Andee Lindgren (8-3) gave up one hit, an infield single, struck out seven and walked two for Sonora (15-6, 2-0).

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 10, Los Amigos 0 (6 innings, mercy rule)--Kathy Moore pitched a perfect game, striking out 14 of 18 batters for visiting Garden Grove (6-8, 3-2).

Pacifica 7, Bolsa Grande 1--Amanda Freed threw her second no-hitter, struck out 12 and walked four for first-ranked Pacifica (18-1-1, 7-0). Becky Kitts was two for four with two RBIs for the Mariners. Desiree Cantrell scored the only run for Bolsa Grande (6-7, 3-2) on an error.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 7, University 5--Kim Stryker hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning, driving in the tying and winning runs for Laguna Hills (9-7, 2-0).

Aliso Niguel 7, Laguna Beach 0--Stephanie Mueller (4-2) tossed a one-hitter with six strikeouts for Aliso Niguel (7-10, 2-0).
