Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Suspect Arrest

Share

A routine traffic stop Friday ended in the arrest of a 57-year-old man suspected of selling cocaine and heroin, authorities said.

At 10:45 a.m., Oxnard Police Officer Robert Eckman stopped a car for a registration tag violation on South Oxnard Boulevard at Wooley Road. Eckman said that when he decided to tow the vehicle and impound it, the driver, Pedro Valencia Acereto of Oxnard, “became extremely nervous and tried to hide property.”

A search of the vehicle turned up heroin and cocaine valued at $1,700, according to Eckman.
