Memorial services for an Oxnard man who drowned along with two others when their fishing boat sank off San Nicolas Island have been planned for later this week in Los Angeles.

Tam Van Duong, 29, died April 17 when the Ventura-based boat Lindy Jane sank seven miles off the island at 3:50 a.m. He spent up to six hours in the Pacific Ocean before the Coast Guard pulled him from the cold water.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Chung Wah Funeral Home, 2730 N. Broadway, Los Angeles. Services are set for Friday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Duong will be cremated.

On Monday, 32-year-old San Nguyen of Pomona was memorialized at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Mortuary in North Hollywood. He also was cremated.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has not yet released the body of 34-year-old Tan Le, the third person killed in the accident. Spokesman Scott Carrier said authorities are awaiting instructions from Le’s father, who lives in Vietnam.

The sinking of the Lindy Jane is being investigated by the Coast Guard.
